Where did you notice water?

Mark the spot on the basement drawing and try a sample inspection request. You only need to describe what you saw. The cause can wait for an inspection.

1 Mark a location

Drawing 01Basement cross-section

Choose a letter on the drawing or a location below.

Where on the wall?

Note whether the mark starts high on the wall or near the base. Describe what you can already see, such as a damp patch or a narrow streak.

Where the wall meets the floor

Note whether the damp area follows the edge or spreads onto the floor. A nearby corner or step can help the office locate it.

Around the basement window

Note whether you saw water in the well, on the inside sill, or on the wall below it. Describe it from the place where you first noticed it.

What the office would do next

An inspection coordinator would review the location and timing, then contact the homeowner to arrange a visit. The appointment would be confirmed separately.

This example runs on this page. It asks for no contact details and schedules no appointment.
